It was a very nice memorial to the battle. There is a nice museum a couple of miles up the road with lots of old photos and a plastic soldier recreation of the battle.
This was a storm that threatened us a couple of times, but never dropped any rain on us. Until we got to Idaho, we had had extraordinarily good luck with rain.
I have been amazed at the wildfire damage. It is all over Montana and Wyoming. It is really bad in Yellowstone itself.
Ah, then the big boy mountains came out to play.
A shot from Bozeman, MT.
Hooray!! We finally arrive. Unfortunately, we still have over an hour to go to our hotel. I know it sounds crazy, but we needed a hotel that could take all six of us, take the cat, had an indoor pool and wouldn't cause us to take out a loan to pay for it. So it was off to Rexburg, ID for our hotel.
Our first wildlife in Yellowstone! Trust me, it won't be the last picture.
We got to Idaho and the clouds opened up. It rained all the way from Yellowstone to Rexburg. We were so tired when we got to the hotel that we all collapsed into bed.
More tomorrow!!
