Day Three found us visiting the Crazy Horse Memorial just a few miles from Mount Rushmore. This is an incredible monument! It is going to be the largest sculpture in the world when it is finished (in about 100 years). The foundation takes no government money and is run soley on admission fees and donations from private citizens.
Yee Haw!! Wyoming!! We stopped in Upton for some lunch. I already knew we were going to be very late getting to Idaho, but you do what you have to do.
This one's for my mother. Just outside of Sheridan, WY we saw our first mountains of the trip. They are the Bighorn Mountains. We drove on I-90 after Sheridan and essentially went north of these mountains into Montana.
I had always heard how beautiful Montana is, but you can't understand until you see it for yourself. The mountains are incredible and the land is just spectacular. Our camera limited us to what we can post here, but what we saw will stay with us forever.
I will post more about this day in the next post.
