Day One

Well, we made it to Salina, KS about 6 pm. We went to Wal-Mart to pick up a couple of roasted chickens for dinner and some stuff that we forgot.
The trip was uneventful which is just the way I like it. 700 miles the most I have ever driven in one day. There was no rain and only two spots where there was road construction.
Here are some pictures from today's trip....

Not very fancy, but what would you expect from Oklahoma.

Speaking of Oklahoma...we saw a Horshoeing School. Yes, folks a Horseshoeing School. I know they probably exist in Texas, too, but we couldn't help but think, "How very Oklahoma."

We have never been to Oklahoma or Kansas.

Here's a beautifl church we saw in Kansas. The field was so beautiful and the church looks so Mid-America.
Well, tomorrow we are off to Rapid City, South Dakota. About 660 miles. We are planning on going to Mt. Rushmore for the evening light ceremony.
Until tomorrow...

Getting Ready

Today is Tuesday. We will start assembling our stuff for the trip tonight. Picking out movies for the kids, burning CDs of what I want to listen to, bedding, cat food, etc. Tomorrow night, after piano lessons, I am heading up to IAH to pick up our van. That way I won't have to miss any work and I will be able to load the van after work.

More posts coming soon.
